We in Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu believe that family members and friends play an important role in the healing process. To that end, we have set flexible visiting hours that would convenient visitors between 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
While we take cognizance on the roles that family members and friends play in the recovery period, we strive to create an environment that is clinically optimized for patient safety. This is especially true in high dependency areas like Intensive and Coronary Care. Visiting hours in these areas are therefore strictly regulated underlining our commitment to ensure only the best clinical care for an optimum patient outcome.
Visiting Hours and Policies
Patients at Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu Hospital may receive visitors daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/Coronary Care Unit (CCU)/High Dependency Units (HDU)
12.00 p.m. to 2.00 p.m.
5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Permission to visit outside normal hours may be granted at the discretion of the Nurse Manager of each ward/unit who takes into consideration clinical and operational factors, including the much needed rest and sleep as well as the possible interruption to the planned treatment and care.
We at Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu takes infection control seriously hence our policy of no children visitors below the age of 12 years old in ICU. Visitors are also encouraged to observe a few simple rules to reduce the risk of spreading and contracting infections. They are:
- Practice hand hygiene. Washing your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer is one of the easiest way to perform hand hygiene. Our hospital is equipped with hand sanitizer dispensers in hallways and outside patients’ rooms.
- Prevent the spread of infection. If you, your family or friends have infections such as cough, cold, fever or rash, please ask them not to visit until they feel better.
Please note that we do not allow flowers and plants into all sterile areas including ICU, PICU, NICU.
